Hello! I'm Heather

 

I've been in the automotive industry for 22 years and my goal is to become dealer with my husband Harry Matos.

           The automotive industry has been my passion since my parents acquired their first new car franchise when I was 8 years old. Most afternoons were spent filing, running errands, and answering the phone. At age 14, I got my first paying job as the receptionist/cashier for the store.  Because of my desire to learn I also assisted in accounting , service , parts and finance .

           After graduating high school from Tuscaloosa Academy , I was adamant about following my passion for the automotive industry. I applied at the only university that had an Automotive Marketing and Management curriculum "Northwood University" and was accepted on full scholarship.  At Northwood in West Palm Beach I was one of only three women in this program. While at the university I attended three NADA conventions, participated  in the Toyota Simulation, studied Reynolds & Reynolds, Aftermarket Sales, and many industry specific topics. Every year Northwood University would put on it's annual auto show where I served the first year as a domestic team member. The following year I was voted in as the Chrysler domestic chairperson and was awarded Best Domestic for the auto show. Because of my previous success with this event the last year was spent as president of all domestic. Taking part in this annual auto show taught me the importance of relationships with local dealers and manufacturers. These relationships allowed me to maximize the presentation. Two concept cars I received from Chrysler as well as the vehicles I received from the  Arrigo Organization help me achieve a killer show. 

After graduating Northwood University, with bachelor degree in Automotive Marketing and Management  I pursued my career with the  Lou Sobh auto group as a finance manager.

In August 2003, I married my husband Harry Matos and we moved to Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Here Harry and I joined Locklear Automotive Group. My husband and I now have 4 gorgeous little girls and continue to work together in the automotive industry.

Trying to deliver a message or have your business seen from a certain perspective is imperative . I've created several methods via social media, community events, and employee functions to achieve this delivery.

When goals are set good fundamental plans are usually developed .I would consider this to be the easy part .Executing a plan to its entirety consistently takes a special trait "tenacity".
